![]() The "cowboy chords" ring in tune!! Ahhhhhhh! After changing strings, it takes no longer to "check" the intonation, than it does to check tuning using any other tuner!!! I see this as a life-long tool, paying for itself many times over - including the added enjoyment of the sound of playing with optimal tuning!!įinally, would I bring it gigging? No, my "StroboStomp" is quite sufficient. Chord shapes stay in tune all the way up the neck. In my case, the most impressive and noticible improvement comes from the "intonation". tuners of other design, then it won't matter to you, and nothing I say will convice you anyway. If you "doubters" out there can't hear the difference between the results of tuning and intonating with a higher-end strobe tuner vs. Please, DO NOT judge or guess about whether you can audibly tell the difference until you OWN one. It's been over a month, and I can tell you that after 40 years of playing, and having owned just about every friggin' type tuner there is, NOTHING (no bobbing needles, blinking bulbs, rotating lightshows, strobo-anything) comes close to this. I simply wanted to FINALLY have one of the absolute best tools for intonating and tuning - that's all!!! I think we can all agree that a strobe of this caliber, qualifies? Whoa you guys!! No scientific/theoretical thought went into this!!!. I'll have some fun with it experimenting for the next few weeks, but now that I have it, I REALLY think it was worth the price - even though it will only be selfishly used for tuning and intonation my own guitars. and you CAN hear it!! Now I can FINALLY find out if, or how much intonation changes after a string change (including different guages), a neck adjustment, etc. I already have a Peterson StroboStomp™ on my pedalboard, but after fooling with this new strobe for about 30 minutes, there is really no comparison! That digital stuff is fantastic, but there's something about the accuracy of that high-tolerance, "quartz tuned" spinning wheel!!. :salude I won't gush - you guys know what this is, but it's accurate to 0.1 cents, can be custom configured ANY way you want, and can handle temperaments out the wazoo! :dude: After years of feeling guilty, and thinking that this was an "extravagant" and unnecessary purchase because I would only need it for personal use, I finally broke down and took delivery on my first "professional-grade" strobe tuner!! A Peterson® "AutoStrobe-490"!! (click HERE). ![]()
